“Unforgettable Honeymoon”
Reviewed July 29, 2011
From the moment you arrive at Le Blanc you are immediately relaxed and made to feel like royalty (or a celebrity – there was a few of them staying too)! You step from your transfer vehicle and presented with a scented cool towel and ushered into the cool, inviting and stunning lobby. Before you can venture further, a butler provides you with a smooth coconut milk drink and your bell boy organises your cases. My new wife was then presented with a lovely flower and we were given two complimentary tickets to a Shakira concert the following night!

Xavier the butler then led us to our amazing ocean view room and ran through the many luxury amenities including the jacuzzi bath, amazing power shower and all inclusive mini bar and optics! They knew it was our honeymoon and as well as receiving the $1,500 resort credit we were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and a petit four selection with “Happy Honeymoon” emblazoned in chocolate – another brilliant and personal touch.

I could probably write a short novel on our stay but I will refrain. The restaurants are amazing, the seven course tasting menu in the French restaurant Lumiere is unlike any meal I have tasted and is a fantastic dining experience in some beautiful surroundings. Blancitalia is a top notch Italian restaurant and probably my favourite out of the eateries we visited. The breakfast and lunch “buffets” are unlike any other eat what you like type hotel set ups I have seen. The chefs seem to work all day and cook fresh throughout including on cue at the hot plate – pancake, waffles, french toast in the morning – or kebabs, fresh fish and griddled meat throughout the day and night! A wonderful and very filling time to be had!

Guillermo the bar man in the lobby is an amazingly knowledgeable and friendly character who will engage and not seem patronising as some other hotel bar staff would. Get him to crack open the Don Julio blanco tequila and have yourself a lesson in the local tipple!

The honeymooners meal is also an unforgettable experience, minihoneymooner above must have been permanently raging or have no taste as the food was delicious. The main beef fillet and lobster was so succulent I am salivating at the thought again – this was also the main for the idyllic romantic beach meal which we purchased for with some of our resort dollars but the bright moon and crashing waves will live with us forever. We also used the resort dollars for a tranquil back massage which I think was the most relaxing and blissful experience you could encounter, a haircut for us both, a trip to Chichen Itza and $300 voucher to spend in the jewellery store.

Swim up bar was also excellent as was the poolside service and meals. The only downside as previously mentioned was the Time Share sale which takes you too the Cancun Palace resort – I already knew about the hard sell from reading on here and was only attending to see another hotel and get my $100 voucher for Coco Bongo! It was however an eye-opener which made you glad to be getting your cab back to the adult only Le Blanc – as the shift in noise and activity level with kids around was not calming in the least.

An experience never too forget, amazing staff and amazing resort – it was our pleasure.

Room Tip: All great rooms!!
